Andrea Gordon

Andrea Gordon’s journey started in the late 90s, watching her best friend dance, but started dancing herself in 2006. She found joy and freedom in jazz movement and performed well in several contests before leaving the scene in 2014 when she realized the values and priorities of the scene didn't align with her own.

She has returned to and for a community that values its history, its culture, and its people. Since coming home, she's been a touring cast member in the stage show
Sw!ngOut, a celebrated Master of Ceremonies, and a sought-after voice in the discussion of
inclusion and equity in jazz dance spaces. Andrea enjoys improving her art as a practitioner of African American vernacular jazz dances and actively works toward creating a community that values safety, love, and appreciation for all its members.
